What is HEAD-DOWN DISPLAY?

Usually a visual display mounted inside the cockpit to supplement the head-up display (OR)

A display inside the cockpit, usually a radarscope, or a CRT (cathoderaytube) raster with a symbology and TV  overlay. It normally is placed below oralongside the instrument panel.
